Volkszone Argon Offer - Emails Required !!!

I am starting a new thread just for this as its could be key to getting a deal.

After chatting with Katie Anderson from BOC, she has advised me that she forwarded an email to the secretary of one of the product managers.

The secretary mentioned a 2L ??!! bottle but I reiterated to Katie that it was the 20L 'Y' cylinder that we are interested in, basically the volkszone offer but with the cylinder fileld with argon instead of argoshield.

She is going back to the secretary with more details, but Katie did say that the product managers require a level of interest from the public to even consider 'special deals'.

So I proposed to Katie that I get all the people who have registered an interest in an Argon deal, to each individually send an email to her so she can then say to the secretary that she has 30 emails from people about the offer.

So her emails is as follows :

katie.anderson@boc.com

If each person can send a quick email to her along the lines of being interested in a volkszone type offer for pure argon, a 'y' cylinder (20l) with fixed rent.

If each person can then post a reply on here when they have sent their email and then we can hopefully get the product manager to setup a deal.

Premiershipman, is on the case, He is keeping the pressure on, In regular contact with Katie Anderson at BOC.I'm sure he will keep us updated if there is any progress.
In the mean time, we still need everybody that is even remotely interested in a pure Argon deal to send an email to her requesting for this to happen,

I dont know what sort of deal they may be able to sort but i have a BOC stockist just a few miles away so would be a great advantage if a good deal could be made! (Just gone through nearly an 11L bottle of gas whilst just practicing with the TIG!)

Maybe I am a little biased but why are people spending so much effort with this ? After all BOC have been raking it in over the years with their rental system . Why not just support one of the rent free companies ( Many available , not only my Southwest Gas Supplies ) and make the big boys listen that way

As I said to you last year ( by PM) some of your re sellers take a very hefty mark up and do not / will not entertain 20L bottles. If this takes off I will not be going near Croydon except to return a 10L argon bottle, unless that is some of the independents listen and kick some of your re sellers in to line.

Just a short email to Katie Anderson, asking if there is a possibility of BOC providing a Y size bottle of pure Argon on the same sort of price structure as the Argoshield light that they already supply for the hobby market via the Volkzone offer.

There's also the convenience aspect... when i called my local Jayar they denied being an agent at first then, when pushed, decided they were but didn't stock anything and put me on hold while they came up with a (non competitive) price. With my local BOC agent i can rock up unannounced with an empty and be 99.9+% sure that they'll have stock and 100% sure that 1) i won't have to convince them that are in fact a welding gas agent and 2) wait for them to decide how much to charge me

I already tried that route thanks but your supplier near me (Jayar car parts) want an arm and a leg for the rental and refills. £80+ VAT for argon refil 20l !
If your re-sellers could constrain their profit margins a little (maybe to something less than 200% lol) then i would happily go this route.

Unfortunatly Jayar are well known for their pricing policy with all of their stock , not only our gas . ( I guess it must work for them as they have about 30 branches . )

I would like to point out that there is no rental involved with a purchase of our gas I assume you are refering to the refundable deposit .

If you know of any companies in your area that you think might be more reasonable with their margin please PM me their details and I will contact them .

Well put it this way, jayar wanted i think £80 or £90+ vat for a 20l refill, i have currently got an albee bottle that costs me 38.65+ VAT for a refill and thats for an 11 litre bottle (and i thought that was expensive!). The whole idea of getting a 20 litre bottle would be for a lower cost and greater duration as i am currently going through a lot of gas.
