Just to update, I sent another email to Katie the other week but think she may be on holiday so I will send another this week to find out if there is any progress.
i'm about to email anyway, but i'm curious as to how this works... £70 a year for rent and fill sounds great for tig and mig for me. i've got cylinders with southwest gas for both although i use enough gas that if rent was cheaper the extra gas that you get with the higher fill pressure from BOC would make it worthwile. my question is... is that for every year of ownership i take it? not just the first year? and if its every year...what happens if my cylinder is full when my anniversary of contract comes up? can the fill be 'put behind the bar' if you like and used when needed? i take it theres no penalty for extra fills through the year?
cheers
As far as I know the deal is on going, About £70-00 for the rental and 20 ltrs gas is great,Deal is only for Argoshield light which will do for mig but NOT tig,If there is any gas in your cylinder if you end your agreement will be lost,No penalty for extra fills and an added bonus is you are not charged the usual BOC handling fee,Second year rent is approx
£40+vat and refill around £23-00 plus vat.
I know the gas won't do both, what I meant was if we can get boc to do a similar offer on an argon bottle then the price will be good and I will get an argoshield and an Argon cylinder, so I've got one for mig and one for tig. And with the question about coming to the end of the agreement what I meant was; I was under the impression it was a fixed price of £70 a year which injured rent for a year and a fill, i thought this meant at the beginning of year 2 you had to pay £70 again for rent and a full cylinder even if you still had some gas left. I now understand it drops to just an annual rent of roughly £40, and that the initial £70 is a combination of £40 rent and £30 gas, makes sense now!
The argon cylinder I've just got is a 20l one and costs £80+ vat to refill and it's only filled to 200bar (155 on my reg)
Hope this goes somewhere, I've only got to use a cylinder a year and it's saving money
the deal is the same as a normall rental agreement.. you wont have to pay the full £70 after the year is up just the price for the bottle rental unless of course you need a refill then you pay for just the gas...
its like a normall boc rental agreement just a bit cheaper to help us out
Premiershipman is already pushing the case for a pure argon deal,Members are urged to contact BOC to ask for the possibility of this happening,Quite a few people have already done this but we need as many as possible to send emails,
The person to send emails to is katie.anderson@boc.com
Another email sent to katie to see if I can get an update on where we are with this. Once I know where we are up to with this then i will let you all know.
Nice to hear from you, and sorry I haven't been in touch.
Since we last spoke, I have been talking about this with Justin (who sorted out the Volkszone deal), who is also trying to get someone to pick up on the interest we have got with the Argon.
I have sent him all of your emails - and I know he was speaking with someone. Unfortunately he isn't in today, but I have forwarded your email onto him to pick up when he returns, and I will keep you updated.
Thanks
Katie
So we will wait and see folks....watch this space.
