when i spoke to transwave they said i have to wire the input end up, i only bought 1.5m 3 core and i was going to wire it up to a 16 amp socket, should this be changed to 2.5m cable?
he ask what size the motor was and the top speed 2000rpm and he advised i need the stc2 hd 2.2kw and i should have no issues running this lathe because the one i was going to buy he said may struggle to get top speed?

1.5mm will cover 16 amp on the supply to transwave I used 2.5mm on mine though and 1.5mm on the output

Ok i have also taken the pillar drill, grinder and buffer machine to my mates garage and they all work great the buffer and grinder are super smooth and quiet but the pillar drill was rattling on start up from the on off box but other than that the motor sounding smooth and quiet and did everything it should so up to now i am super happy, i was thinking of selling the pillar drill but after playing with it there is no comparison between this one and my sip metalworker drill press

dont worry about the drill starter box just replace it. the coil and contactor will be worn and rattling a new ones cheap enough

great, the motor sounds perfect what i will do is soon as i have all the gear set up in the shed and running i will put a video and some pictures on and hopefully i can get some advice on how to sort it out, the only other issue i have is with the buffer machine the light does not work my mate checked it and it has a current running to the transformer but nothing coming out the other end so that will need looking at also, but there is no comparison old tools are just made miles Superior for instance the old drill press tube is solid steel were as the sip drill press has a hollow tube what the table runs on the problem with this is it causes a lot of flex, the old one is super rigid.
