What car would you choose from 1980’s

Don't know what it's like on a Ferrari but I know people were complaining that replacing a turbo on a modern Disco was a body off job. What they didn't seem to realise that if you knew what you were doing that taking the body off on a lift was a 30 minute job at which point the turbos were just sat there straight infront of you. Why wouldn't you do that?

Isn't it that it's more than a "lift" as in a special lift that only dealers will likely have?

Without a lift perhaps. The RR is similar, basically drop the engine out, but I think it's a few loom connectors and a handful of bolts and propshaft and then the whole subframe with engine drops out of the vehicle.

As I said painful for those without lifts but if you do then it's a little bit of work and everything is immediately accessible.

Nightmare even with a lift (we have two, my uncles are mechanics). The packaging in the XF tdv6 engine bay is ridiculously tight. So much so that a local indy told me the timing belt change was an engine out job. (it wasn't, i did it myself, it was a rad, intercooler and a/c condenser out job though)

we’ll sort of, a standard two post lift does it easily.

I thought that the Lancia Stratos was only manufactured between 1973 and 1978.

As lovely as they are, they ain't an 80s car.

Now if you had said Lancia Delta integrale ...

(for all their appalling build quality !
- my late mate Charlie had his try to kill him as he drove it home from the Dealership for the first time.
It eventually had its handbrake fail while parked and it died under a Stirling Council Bin Truck.)

I'm not a huge ford fan, and not a great fan of cosworth YB either, but there's something about a sapph cos... And this one is definitely 80's they've aged horribly in driving terms and the chassis was never that great... But look at it!

I had the 3L GSi Opel Omega on hire. Drove it across Spain. Reached some very silly speeds. Deserted motorways and no speed cameras. Did Gib to Bilbao in 8 hours - that is an average of 82mph Could never do it in the UK.

Mind you Ferraris are rather delicate. One of our customers has a limited edition Ferrari. We ship the £125,000 engine back to the factory for a rebuild which costs him £85,000 each time.
How many miles between rebuilds? Every 3000 miles
