What's the point of having it, or are you now going to start 'collecting' bits & pieces to keep in it?

I forgot to mention I have a small [ex-bathroom cabinet] fixed to the inside of one of my wall cabinets, in case I have to see to flush an eye etc.

Thanks, that's very informative - going to pick 'n mix contents as there's [mostly] only me in there.

I still can't believe they ban plasters from first aid kits. How many people are actually allergic? And I am sure if somebody is allergic they will speak up!
Something useful to have is some aspirin. It is pretty harmless but can save a life if they are having a stroke or heart attack.

It's not so much allergies, it's more to do with today's litigious society , can you guarantee you have cleaned a wound properly before applying a plaster?, if infection sets in, guess who ends up getting sued?.

Classic example was when we were out in the (voluntary) ambulances and some one asked for a paracetamol tablet for a headache, we couldn't give one, but said "if you look in that locker there"

I have the Costco big blue rolls - don't think it'd stick to a wound and disintegrate like loo roll might?

You mentioned something to rub on burns, never ever use one of the commercially available cremes, they do nothing but help your flesh carry on cooking. At least 10 minutes under cold running water to cool it. Someone mentioned cling film, used on partial thickness and full thickness burns to help keep infection out. Just draped loosely over the burn site also has the advantage that you can keep cooling the burn.

I don't have anything in the shop it would get ruined. Got a bit n house and the local rural practice is 10 mins away during regular work hours.
BTW don't rub nothing on burns get it in the quench bucket or under the cold tap ASAP then treat it with ice or cool packs. You want to cool it and stop it cooking not baste it

When I sliced open my fingers I asked if they could glue them with superglue but they insisted on using stitches - seriously painful in the fingers as not much flesh. Should have treated myself!

I was on the gate over the weekend at South Cerney steam show, for people wanting to re-enter, we were giving out tickets, I queried why not the old date stamp like a disco as previous years?
