Well thanks guys for all the contacts, some did come up when I Googled and I did a lot more local ish research.

I spent a good hour + phoning round.

My area is still proving expensive, got one which is 22p a metre dearer than a firm from Driffield which is the cheapest, also cheap delivery, does not sound a lot but there will be a lot of metres in the construction so it add's up fast.

Obviously I can find some dirt cheap stuff, even locally but if a sparrow hits it head on it will fly right through.

Have you priced up the rent of a luton van/lwb pickup + a day off to collect?

More like 3+ hours, I live near nowhere and it's even a good run to the M6 or A1, and on limited driving capability at the moment.

They deliver for £40 so that's ok with me, well it was until the wife got wind of what I am planning and playing hell because I am not supposed to lift much until problem fixed, she will lose this battle though

I am a bit of a detail perfectionist at times and find most workmen are far from that even on a good day.

Not cheap tried locally for bespoke they worked out cheaper for a more substasial shed. But when comparing price like for like is difficult. The boards on some are 12mm mine are 31mm.

I dont recomend many companies, but have recently used these and woodpecker green houses. Both excellent service and quality. Only down side im now skint as a skint thing!

No..that was the way she found out about the Triumph Bonneville I was enquiring about last month

This time it was leaving the PC screen open when I went out

37 Years married and I still trip up

Now you see ii bought a triumph boneville last month, and it was her indoors who helped me load it into her stock trailer to fetch it home.

Well i say her trailer, i bought it as i new it would be just the right size to move bikes.

well ya cant blame it on windows 10 for grassing you up at the moment just yet just wait till that happens and she finds out all that youve been looking at to buy next pmsl

Just been to a mates and he has a box full of new 12v pc case fans, happy to hand them over FOC, toying with the idea of making 6 banks of 4, spread around the workshop and running them just to circulate some air, running costs would be zero, the effect would be yet to find out, may make up one bank as a trial and see how much it moves... could use the old candle trick to judge effect.

I understand your point about the wet car but leaving it out is not an option I'm afraid.

My dad had an old mercedes grosse (and he sold it for peanuts) that was always damp inside. He ended up leaving a 40w bulb running in it day and night and that seemed to sort it.
Definitely see the benefit of giving the fans a shot - very cheap to run and may well make a difference!

i would use a large computer fan and inset into some ducting split off at certain points even better if you was moving the warm air around

Those are serious looking fans..impressive and at 12v would be lucky to burn £1 worth of leccy a year.

I thought of housing 4 in a row to make a bank of fans, make up say 4 banks and place in each corner.

Will have to do some thinking now, 4 banks of small or perhaps 2 big one's.

I am fairly confident the idea is a goer, simply having air movement should make a world of difference on damp days and that means most days at the moment.

Another set up high, sucking 'drier' air from outside, it would also benifit from been on the south facing wall.

I wouldnt go crazing with the number you use, you only want the air to circulate

Those look like delta fans Steve. Renowned for high air flow and being a bit noisy. You can normally drop the voltage a bit and get quieter fans without too much lost performance.

Yes position is key I suspect, dry air from outside in Cumbria this year was a big no but I know what you mean, I suspect this will be an interesting low cost project that may have big benefits.

You have been in the workshop, do you think they would move air around enough in that space.

Not had a play with them yet but things starting to escalate as they do.

Mate phoned up with a 'I have a brainwave', this usually translates to 'I get a headache' but this time he may have had a eureka moment.

He is a bit of an electronics genius, has made some great things in the past, so I know he has loads of skill to back his idea.

He reckons one of the cheap Chinese humidity detectors ( if it has the right internals he needs) could be modified to switch at a set level to control the fans if we are sticking to a 12v system, so the fans only run when and as required.
