Honestly Steve I would have my doubts unless you put in quite a few. They'll certainly stir things up a bit but ultimately computer fans aren't really that powerful, even the larger 120mm+ ones.
However, if they're costing you nowt and you've got a bit of time to tinker with them then I would give it a go. You've got nothing to lose
Usually the larger the blades the more air they shift which means they can spin slower and be more quiet.
When my place gets running I have a standard 5" bathroom fan. It moves a whooooor of air and is extremely quiet. Cost £15 brand new and runs from 240AC.
The fan on demand based on humidity / temperature is a good one. Honeywell do a simple sensor that'll do temp and humidity in one. Few quid IIRC.
Those 5" ones come with humidistats built in, for only a few quid more...
