Work boots anyone tried the V12 brand

My work boots are Dewalt Apprentice, steel toecap but no steel mid sole, extremely lightweight and flexible, can be bent double easily , reasonably waterproof which could be enhanced with spray or polish , Best I have ever had , about 60 quid from your local Toolststion , Screwfix etc ,

just looked them up, sounds perfect from your description but they say not waterproof !

I have V12 dealer boots, they are well made.

But I still can't beat my William Lennon boots, dubbed every other week perfectly water tight.

If you want certain waterproof and quality haix or meindl

I like meindl but at the moment i would stay well clear of buying new ones. The glue they use to hold the soles on isn’t up to the job, soles are falling off. I’m waiting for replacements

I've never bothered before

historically all my boots have failed at the sole just behind the steel cap, they start leaking there and end up in the bin

I just use a stiff brush to clean then apply dubbing

I normally rinse them off at work, they'll have fat/blood/meat on them which rinses off easily with hot water

Yes dubbin wax, keeps the leather supple and water tight. Stops them splitting

Another vote for Haix boots, I've got a pair and they get daily use for dog walking (and more) at this time of year.

I bought some V12 dealer boots several years ago and I wouldn't want to stand around in them much; they're very 'clompy', if you know what I mean - stiff sole and quite hard rubber sole.

To quote Seargent Schultz....."Veery Inteerestingah !"
Will have a look at them, of course shipping will be more, size 15w need extra carrier pigeons strapped on the box.

I've heard (not that I've looked) that combat and patrol boots have become a rarer commodity, and thus more expensive, due to certain events in further corners of Europe; especially in regular adult sizes.

In my opinion the only things that are truly waterproof are wellies.

For the use you are talking about some decent walking boots would be a better option.

I've got some Meindl that fit perfect out of the box and very comfortable, wearing all day is not an issue. I even wore mine on a long haul flight and didn't fel the need to take them off.

I wear wellies pretty much every day at some point even in the summer because they are quick and easy.

I was wearing Dunlop Purofort Safety, nice and light and very comfortable. They do multiple years easily. I did try Purofort Pro but they felt a bit heavy and stiff. I'm now wearing Purofort Field Pro safety and I really like them, they fit snug around the ankle which makes them really nice to walk in as they don't flop around.

I had a pair of V12s ages ago, don't remember buying a second pair.
Infact, I vaguely remember them being a bit stiff and ridgid, with soles that seemed to conduct the cold right through.
