Id imagine it's the bed levelling . It needs to be spot on. Try 70 degrees on the bed, or try painters tape that came with it(masking tape).

The fridge handle was a failure!
I modelled it in AutoCAD and it looked great. All soft curves. Printed some small sections and they fitted a treat.
I then somehow lost the model! I'd sent beforehand my lad the .stls for the handle and bit that screws to the door as two separate parts for some reason. He put them together but as meshes, the resultant model looked faceted. This is how it printed, dog rough, like a lobster's back!
One side of the handle was just an open mesh!
Something lost in translation between CAD packages I guess!
Going to simplify the next attempt, all right angles, minimal radii and no overhangs!
MK2 will have a flat bottom so less support needed. Function over form this time!

Did something new today.
Printed a plate in carbon fibre reinforced PETG and integrated sealings in TPU.
Printed simultaneously with dual extruders.
Pressure tested up to 50 bar and it kept the fluid and didn't crack.
Did a test piece to check bonding and it's so strong it could have been super glued....

Thanks, that prompted me to go looking to improve things.
Think I've sussed the facet issue by using the FACETRES command, upping from the default (think it was 0.1) to 10 makes the world of difference to the smoothness of the exported stl!
Just found 3DPRINT command too!

Was the open mesh supports for an overhang? I've had that, looks 'orrible!
I'm using TurboCAD to produce STL files and the free Slic3r that came with my Geeetech A10 (Creality clone?), been pretty good so far...
A job it needs to do is printing new plastic handle halves for my Dewally radial arm saw, having lived outdoors (under a lean-to) the UV has got to 'em, one half's in pieces already, the other's slowly turning to powder... Dewally discontinued the handle as a spare part some years ago

No the failed, white PLA one was printed like the green rendering above so it was the very top side of the handle (facing upward) that printed the open mesh. Live 'n learn.
My DeWalt radial lives in the stable in perpetual twilight but your post makes me think I can print a new cover that goes over the capacitor and nvr switch. Mines in two halves!
Re the safety aspect, HSE & Cleapps the schools advisory service have done a lot of work on 3d printing, it is now regarded as absolutely essential to have an enclosure over the printer with either extraction to outside or through a bofa extraction unit to capture the fumes. As said earlier the fumes from melted plastic are hazardous.
This has caught most schools & printer manufacturers on the hop & there is a rush to become compliant.
Not thesort of thing to have in you kids bedroom with no ventilation!
Other safety aspect is print runs can last for many hours can you keep an eye on it?

Does this include PLA filament?
Yes, effectively all plastics give of fumes & particulates when heated, some are more toxic than others.
I think a lot of this came about as some establishments have many printers running in the same location, this could lead to levels that can have a quick impact on health. Some contain Styrene & Isocyanate & those alone should concentrate the mind a bit!
In my schools case they have just bought two new 3d printers & the look on the teachers faces when i told them we cant use them until extraction is provided was priceless, anyone would think i had broken wind loudly in church!

We currently have a research project looking at the same issues. It comes as no surprise that some of the no name Chinese consumables are a tad more hazardous then you mislead you to believe.

If you knew what is supposed to be in cheap Chinese vinyl it would not surprise you.

I'm not surprised at all.
Years ago when a certain type of mobile phone made by a particular maker became popular I went to Tilburg to investigate a massive out break of skin rash in some dock workers.
I found that the Chinese were using a particularly nasty chemical to fumigate containers so bugs couldn't chew on the cardboard
It wasn't very good for humans

Don't the Chinese go in for 50 year plans? As in sow the seeds for a future health epidemic in the West perhaps?
I must admit I've got a Chinese Bluetooth amp up in the loft. I wonder how that'd fare against a big supply over voltage? Imagine multiple house fires country wide!
Still, it's not as even though they have any control over our power utilities, emergency service's comms systems etc...
