Another little job, a waterfall chute for a garden water feature, 1.5mm stainless, tigged together.

And another Ally job, a support frame for a breakfast bar, the leg was supplied by the customer so nothing to do with me, I would have made it from stainless but this one is cheap and cheerful chromed steel and not very good at all really. I've since plugged the open ends of the box section just to finish it off.

Little job done in a mad hour today, a grab rail to go on the wall alongside an external door to help a relative manage the step, all stainless of course.

Is that in 44 mm easy to get proper marine grade polished stainless tube where you can also get right stainless angles with mounting plates & cappings to fit a elongated U to a wall . I'm thinking of putting an extra stainless steel horizontal grab rail on my wet room .. concerned that most bars especially the Chinese tat currently flooding the market appear to be steel tube bent at the ends , copper plated then plated in chrome that eventually opens up to rusting.

Its just 1" dia tube about 450 long, plates are 40 x 5 flat and the stand offs 12mm solid, just made from what I had lying around, I used to make loads of them using the pre made parts when I had a local hospital contract,

these were the heaviest stainless sections Id ever used or seen, 100x100x8mm hollow section and 12mm base plates. just checking the welding.

Delicate little repair job today, this is one of those long safe keys with a removable end, (old penny for scale)

It attaches to the key extension handle with two cross bars in this slot, one square and one round, the round one has sheared off.

Its made from stainless so using the mark made by the missing bar filed a couple of slots

And cut a short length of 1.6mm stainless tig rod, laid it in the slot and using the tig with a fine point on the electrode welded it in, A bit of a clean up with a warding file and on the polisher and it looked like this.

The customer bought the long key extension when he picked it up and it just needed a few strokes with the file to make it work, apparently I now have another to do next week,

To save you having to carry the whole key with you everywhere, suit didn't have suitable pockets. Ours had a small hole in them so that they could be clipped inside a key case.

This was damaged by it being attached to a spiral key ring round the small bar, the tit on the end is the knob of a spring loaded plunger that locks the key in position on the shaft
