I did a four point leveling adjustment as one of the first checks made after assembly . Then took the machine through it's programmed steps , the machine did it'd own automatic nine point reference leveling check & also set all the other parameters to do with distance &height .. The LCD screen read out says it's OK . As a result of Phillips post & yours I've reread the hand book , what both of you say make sense, thanks .
I have a printer with automatic levelling that gives similar reassurances but the auto levelling is frequently off and I have to make manual adjustments to get it right. The good news is that a large part of mastering 3D printing is getting the first layer correct, so once you get to the bottom of this you will quickly be making prints, then it is fine tuning to improve the results.
