Quite nimble, 109 hp and 120 Nm torque seem adequate, handling is great on bumpy greasy roads, I like the telelever supension. Will be able to test it better when roads less greasy though so far delighted, comfy upright riding position, just getting used to the strange indicator buttons.she looks in fine fettle out...what did she ride like?
Am being careful parking and at slow speed, getting used to the weight after just riding old British bikes for the last few years, never mind having limited feeling in my feet and weak right shoulder after some of my more recent surgery.

Great arnt they, i run shorty's on every bike i own and the Brembos on my latest Super duke are two or even one finger pull brakes,outstanding stopping power.

Your Pictures explain better than a thousand words why these short fellas are betterI ride with two fingers covering the front brake and for most times it was fine but if you needed to stop hard you had to get the other fingers up or get them trapped. No such problem with the shorty

2 degrees this morning, had a run up towards Oban.
Took photo's at Dunadd hill fort, the ancient capital of Dalriada Kingdom from 2000 years ago. Modern compared to the 5000 year old standing stones within site of it.
To think I had the wheels and exhaust off yesterday cleaning them!

I used to run shorties on all the bikes I owned, but had a change of heart after listening to MCN's Neevesy on the subject. He's not a fan, as you might know. When you have short levers you're missing out on the option to use different parts of the lever to change the mechanical advantage of the lever. I also followed Neevesy's advice and adjusted the lever span so that the lever was closer to the bars, not at maximum span. Doing both of those things have improved brake feel and responsiveness no end.

I found the opposite, shorty lever changed the feel for the better and makes trail braking easier for some reason. It does allow me to have it closer however as it means I can pull on full and not worry about trapping fingers or having to lift fingers out of the way.

It's a very personal thing, and whatever suits you best is the way to go. I must admit to preferring the CNC machined levers over the standard cast ones, as they feel more rigid and you can more precisely modulate the amount of force you're putting into the lever. I suspect that when I first tried short CNC levers after standard cast ones, that was the improvement I felt. I've now gone back to full length levers, but CNC types. For me that gives the best of all worlds, but I accept that others will feel differently.

I'm seriously thinking of buying something just like that in the very near future. A reasonable chunk of inheritance should be coming my way, so a new (to me) bike could well happen. Problem is, I like my ancient 1100r so much I can't think what I'd change it for, so why not just get a newer, better version of the same bike.
In just the last 2 months I've fitted new tyres, new brake pads, new rear disc and a new seat, so I'm loathe to sell or trade it, as it's got no real retail value, 100,000 miles, 26 years old etc. I'll probably keep it, for old times sake, but then I'd be stuck for space for two bikes....

I bought a 1994 Orange P7 mountain bike in 1995 and still have it to this date amongst others I own. It breaks my heart to sell it as it’s been with me for over half my existence even though it hasn’t been used in yonks.

I could not find them for sale in the UK, even with import duty they were cheaper than ebay second hand ones. I believe they fit a limited range of bikes, the pre 2015 R1200R, and pre LC R1200RT. My bike came with the racks already fitted.
