As I now have two boxes of 6013 I'm abit concerned of ending up with the entire range from the weld shop haha.

About 7018 , happened to run some using a buzz box but I don't know what make them was probably bohler
I use Lincoln 7018 and they work great in DCEP , they don't work very well in DCEN ,I didn't try to use them in AC but I'm pretty sure that they won't work
DCEN are very very very hard to start but they kinda work
In fact I think to remember that 7018 DCEN are mentioned in the roots WPS
Anyway I'm not a professional welder or fabricator just an hobbyist.
Think that @TechnicAl can give us some more details about ,if I remember right he used to work where welding electrodes and other consumables are made

This evenings attempts.
First off checked all connections, Wasn't totally happy with terminal connector at the probe connector end at the machine so remade.
Cranked up the amps to about 100 and ran a bead.... Totally different sound and feel like way too much power and couldn't get the rod in quick enough and leaving very little behind.
Turned down to just over 90...Better but still too much.
Now I'm turning down 1/4 turn each try and can see and feel it getting better so time for some joints.
As you can see it is an improvement on yesterdays but still getting some odd results, What do you all think the problem is now?.

I'm not sure what happened in 4, Start and finnish was better but what caused that other mess?, Maybe still too much power now.
2 was also a concern seemed like it wouldn't lay a bead in the joint.
I'm happy it's an improvement just need to understand how to correct things when they are wrong.
I am so grateful for all the comments so far it is making a big difference .

Use 90A and stick the electrode in the middle of the joint keep pushing ,the rod has to bend cos you are pushing it
Try this you will be surprised by the results

It will happen also in AC because the magnet has a magnetic field
Arc blow is more related to DC welding because the current itself makes working pieces to be a magnet
But in this case it can happen because the magnet
Another possible cause of arc blow is the electrode flux not centered on the core
Will give that ago.
Iv been looking foward to Finnishing work all day to do More welds without the magnet convinced this was the fault.
This time magnet used just to tack ends then removed.
