I’ve done a few of the calculators online but they’re all giving far higher speeds and feeds than the clarkson book. It’s a clarkson cutter so I think I’ll go with that data.but really you can only get as close as you can get
Let me know I’ll certainly take some of your hands $$Might have a carbide clear out soon
I no longer use hss unless a special type of cutter or ally
If it fits in the collet and holds securley, I use it. In a perfect world you would have all the correct bits to match, but most of us dont live in a perfect world.Quick question for you guys, can I use a (modern) milling cutter that has the sidelock/Weldon shank in an ER collet or do I have to use a sidelock arbor?
The main reason why wet coolant is avoided on cast iron is the nasty paste it can produce rusting into a solid and driving the fine dust into places where wear can be caused
Turn your speed down and use a vacuum cleaner to keep dust down
Right another expensive morning.
I have ordered x10 Korloy inserts and a 16mm and a 25mm indexable End Mill to use them in.
Plus I have ordered a couple of new M42 threaded clarkson endmills, not particularly expensive, £6 to £14.
Has anyone tried Powder Metal end mills. I believe they fall somewhere between HSS and Carbide, in both performance and price?
I think the hookers and cocaine would be cheaper!!!With your tool fetish you will never have any money, workshops are an expensive addiction somewhere between hookers and cocaine.
Like most things thatll depend on the quality and location of manufactureI think the hookers and cocaine would be cheaper!!!
hookers and cocaine!!!
Should have offered to bring them pictures next week!Last time I withdrew a lump of cash in Barclays they asked me what it was for, my reply was as above, they said they could not put that in the book, reply was well then don't ask stupid questions!
