BOC and Volkszone - Gas Offer

It may be incorrect but it is the information supplied by BOC! Maybe Justin needs to spread the word around his own office! Anyway, I'm now sorted and won't be going anywhere near BOC in the future. I can't imagine they'll be remotely worried about that since they clearly don't give a stuff about hobbyists!

Just as above - rang Direct Sales, spoke to a very helpful lady, mentioned Volkszone, and the paperwork's on the way.
Fill that in, and I'm good to go - a Y-size Argoshield Light for £63.24 all-in.

did found a local stockist of buy outright bottles with reg and everything on but its 135 for a bottle looks about 3/4 size of a Y and its nigh on 40 quid a pop for a refill....

I had the same problem. I emailed Justin and he phoned them to clear things up. He's really helpful

I emailed Justin on Friday about the offer, i wanted pure Argon for TIG but he said the offer is still on for the Argon/CO2/O2 mix but not for pure Argon.

Argon is ( for a small cylinder he said, no size indicated) £49.94 for the gas+ £14.28 for me to collect it+£73.34 annual rent. Seems a cheap deal for Argon mix but why pull my pants down for pure Argon?

Those prices sound much like the normal prices. I was going to phone and ask about Argon, sounds like I would be wasting my time.

I've had this offer for a year I think now.

And they have started sending me an invoice for 15 quid a month

I had a one off of 35 at the start of the year for rent.

Is this what everyone else is getting?

I think I need to phone them up and ask what is going on.

Speak to Justin, personally I'd email him with a delivery report/read receipt and scan in any bills you've received so he can do the work for you and has the paperwork to hand to arrange a credit...

i want to get some more gas, and would like to see if i can use this deal. looking on their site the application form requires business proof? or am i missing something.

Phone BOC, ask for direct sales, ask to speak to Justin Crook or Phil Hardmann and tell them what you're looking for. They will offer to email or post the new account form, fill that in and they'll set it up for you. They're really helpful, I was expecting a lot of hassle dealing with such a large company. It's aimed at hobby welders so you don't need to fill in the business section of the form.

You can take it in the car but you need to carry the data sheet, they will provide it if you ask and you also need to carry a 2Kg fire extinguisher, you can also put a green diamond in the rear window but you don't have too unless its for business. Its worth getting a 2Kg fire extinguisher (multi purpose foam "I think")

Can't help with delivery costs but I normally just take the estate to the Birmingham depot and collect.
