Yes, that's what you do. Take your account number with you but you don't pay, BOC will invoice you. Make sure you're there way before 4pm because they can't book the gas out after about quarter past and if it's your first collection they will want to do a bit of admin.
Or do what I did and call ahead so they can book the bottle out to you and have it waiting when you arrive.

Don't worry, if they sorted you a hobby account you'll get charged the right amount.

I picked up my 1st bottle of Argon a few weeks ago, I had to register with my local BOC agent using my BOC account number, they then phoned BOC to check that the account is genuine, then they gave me a bottle of Argon.
When I checked my account online I discovered that I was overcharged (about double !!) but an email fired off to BOC sorted it out, I reminded them I was on the Volkszone deal and included the email they had sent me with the prices on it. Within a day I had a refund on my account which brought the total down to what it should be. Turned out they had forgotten to apply the deal to my account, but it was easily sorted.

Are the boc bottles consistently supplied at 230 bar ?

should be, i remember once when i put my reg on the bottle and it was just above 200bar,
i took it back along with my reg just in case and complained,
the guy checked the bottle with a reg and said sorry about that il get you another bottle.
Looking at the invoice...The prices where the Joe Bloggs prices over the counter, the prices that i was originally quoted before i linked them to this thread regarding the volkszone offer. Looks like ive been charged for the bottle @ £70, £15 Admin fee, £2 enviro charge + Vat, Then a years rent at silly price....

No I stated on the phone to them it was just for hobby use and mentioned volkzone deal, these are the prices I was emailed

Yes, contact them. I was actually advised by my local BOC outlet to check the bills, it seems they make a lot of errors.
