Sorry tornado I didn't make myself clear. I have a business account with BOC, all my bottles are full size industrial bottles except my Argon. Each time I go in BOC I get charged the poxy £17.50 fee for the miserable git to roll one bottle into the empty area and give me a new one. I'm doing three Y sized bottles a year, and that is possibly going to increase. So I was going to go to a W bottle of Argon to cut down on the surcharges, but if I can get a Y bottle that cheap on the volkzone deal I will make a new account and get a Y bottle on the deal that is cheaper to refill and no surcharge. Win win.

Bank is a business account luckily. I think it's wrong that BOC will charge different rates for the same product. I'm sure a lot of big companies wouldn't be happy ifnthey found out about these deals.

Value added items such as technical support etc etc
All this is put into the pot and then a decision is made, it is just the same as most people on here will do, different companies have different options which suit different people's needs, all some people want is the cheapest gas whereas others want technical back up or a particular mode of supply. You cannot be all things to all people

It's a y size argosheild light or pure argon, you need to ring or email boc customer services and state it's for hobby use,argosheild is estimated at an average of 8 hours welding I think,at about 10 lpm, I've got one it is approx £40 a year cylinder rental, and around £40 for the gas per cylinder Inc vat.

Thanks Mr fuzzy that may be worth a try, I change the MIG bottles over probably 3 times a year, oxyacetylene maybe once a year and like I say the TIG about three times but that's going to increase and they never bloody coincide with each other to make the 30 minute drive to boc.

We are on our third size Y bottle on the Volkszone deal and have never paid an admin fee when swapping bottles. What I will say though is that this deal isn't widely known about within Boc agents. They didn't know about it in the Boc shop on the Boc hq site in Worsley when we set our deal up. Lots of ringing round required to get it set up correctly.

Have a look at your rental charges, I think only the Y Pureshield is included on the Volkzone offer from the ones you have listed. I get the charge on my O/A and it is per transaction, i.e. if you have 1 bottle or 6 you pay one charge and I'm 99% certain it's the same with delivery.

Sorry, I posted after reading post #727 and having read post #732 I see what you mean, my mistake.
Does seem unfair BOC charging different rates for the same product and it was nice to switch my Pureshield and Argoshield Light Y's to the Volkzone deals as it was quite a saving making the eyewatering Oxy-Acetylene rental a bit more palatable. I know the deals are aimed at the hobbyist to entice the business away from competitors but I have not seen any rules to state how many bottles I can or cannot use.
Is there a bottom line price for the bottles of argoshield and pureshield all in, or does it vary by branch or something? I've not been able to find a clear answer in the thread. Is there a specific person I can call or email to set up an account for the best price?

It's a fixed price, arrange with BOC HQ (not at your local branch) and when it's all arranged you collect from the local branch.
Is this still the details to use to get the Volkszone offer.

I've spoken to BOC guy who actually drove to my location same day I called and offered me fixed annual rental and gas price he then arrange for it to be collected at my local store.
