Yes. I am doing prep work on the tray today. The tray sits on top of the two big stands and the lathe bed and feet sit on top of that and bolts through.

It’s a real pleasure when you begin hearing parts ‘click clack’ into place when before they made a weird muffled thud. Mine was so choked with sawdust and grease that everything needed cleaning - still does tbh but I’m taking a break on it with uni taking precedence atm

Yes it is a very rewarding pleasure. Every nut/bolt and part will be cleaned as they are covered in crud but surprisingly good condition

I’m gonna buy a ultrasonic cleaner when I get my 140. Should make cleaning all the screws and small parts easier!

I’ll need some more toothbrushes too!

Get some latex gloves and swarfega while you're at it, they made a big difference to my life!

Already got those. Workshop essentials!

Buy the huge tubs of Swarfega from Costco.

I done a few cans of WD40 and half a bottle of acetone on the 11” rebuild. Plus a good 10L of diesel.

For fasteners nothing beats a wire wheel on your bench grinder. The only thing it can't make look new is inside the socket caps - for those I use a little wire brush doodad in my battery drill.

Combination of different size wire wheels.
Bench grinder wire wheel.
Pipe cleaner wire brushes.
Wire wool. Course medium fine.
Emery cloth.
And scotch brite pads .
That's about it.

Scotch disks for the angle grinder are devastating on old paint and filler after you scrape and chip the heavy stuff off. They seem to wear out fast though, and they’re expensive.

Drill mounted scotchbrite wheels are very handy for bedways. Saves on the elbows

I use scotch brite pads on bed ways. Some frown upon it but careful use is isn't a problem .

It’s easy to encounter many armchair experts online. That’s why I like this forum, it’s full of people doing things rather than telling me how wrong I am all the time

Small bits today. Like cleaning up bolts and screws. One thing I hate is screws that have had the edge chewed up because someone has used the wrong driver. So everyone I take needle file to and a dress the issues.
