Yes definitely. You never know what's buried under the stuff

Both my S and B have had no filler used when I stripped the paints off. Very good castings. No filler used by me either.

Yes definitely good castings you have. I like to see the roughness of the castings .

Headstock stripped of filler and ready for masking tape and primer. A couple of days of work that was. On my headstock there is a panel on the front. Have not got a clue what this would of been for. Need to do a small repair to one of the screw holes.

Headstock painted inside. Just got to do the outside installed the bearing caps temporary as it keeps parts together.

Pressing on with the boring stuff but slowly getting there. The lathe pads are waiting for a second coat of slop. One of the bases is in primer and the other one should be tomorrow.

Got the large stand painted. Headstock primered.

Headstock painted. Not long now and I will have the main parts bolted together and in its new home.
