only the light switch would be seen the rest would be in the top panel as for the plugs can be fitted from the floor hidden by the skirting board in its own trunking

they do a trunking system for round rooms that the sockets etc fit into the lid its sweet but expensive , It can double up as skirting board too ,,,

The joists are coming out easily enough, though the screws are starting to corrode.

I've measured the amount the rails have spayed out, and it's three inches. It will be interesting to see if ratchet straps are enough to pull this back, and to see if the rail buckles when being straightened.

I've a record pipe vice and stand, so just need the cheapest die set that actually works more than once.

If it is going to be on view, be careful that the galvanised conduit does not slip in the vice and become scarred. Maybe put some rubber in the toothed jaws to prevent this.

If you can wrap the strap so it is a full circle rather than a single pull, it doubles the force on the steel (like a pulley block. If it reaches its limit on the handle, put a timber in and Spanish windlass it (like an old bow saw).

I am going to take the sides off. That should help. And use a lot of the ratchet straps, with timbers to spread the load.

you want to lash up or wedge up one side and pull the other side into it not pull both sides at the same time

then square up one side with both of the side panels once your square one side then do the same on the other side

That's good advice. Getting it Square will be the challenge, I can see myself spending a long time with the spirit level.

Though it will depend on my patience, and just how bad it is.

My hope is to get the existing steel clean by Friday. I'd be very happy if I had new steel in by then.

A day spent ripping stuff apart.

I started gentle, but the carriage screws just turned in the wood, so quickly resorted to cutting the nuts of with the grinder.

Does anyone have a source for flat head carriage bolts? In the UK? They're available in the USA, but I couldn't be bothered importing them.

I had to cut the body off this and the trailer went away to be pulled straight, but we used to regularly pull similarly damaged bodies up to 18 tons straight with tirfors, you should be able to pull that 3" with ratchet straps.

I think so. I've straightened Landrover chassis with them, this should be easy.

Nearly finished for the day. Just the easy modern planking to remove before close.

Here's a dumb question.

I've 4 litre pots of 2k paint. Zinc epoxy and jotamastic.

I'm going to brush this on, but if I make up a full pot it will probably set before I brush on the entire 4 liters.

How do I decant the paint into a bucket without dribbling it all the way down the sides of the tin? Is there a clever way to avoid wasting the paint?
