I agree, pain in the neck, but essential, as she'll be in this in the winter, so it will have to be weathertight. I'm not convinced I'm 100% there, but I can do further adjustment when they're up, clamping strategically.

Tomorrow I'll do the second side of the door, and while that's drying, I'm going to make a start on the plasterboard, see what I can do to get it better.

Masking and more plasterboard. Going to adhesive gap film in a mo. Then varnish the final side of the last door. Might fit them Friday.

These will all be sanded back, along with the two already fitted doors, when all the work is done on the interior. By hand with very fine sandpaper.

More masking today and some repairs. This bit over the window isn't staying tight, so I've glued it with a lot of glue.

Over the canal window need a half moon of plasterboard.

Now for much gap filling, much, much gap filling.

Perfect. Finished the last gap, this batch, and the last tube of gap fill adhesive just as it started raining.

I'll fit a door tomorrow, then play with taping the boards together.

One door up. Not one hundred percent. Slight warp.

But I'm losing patience. I'll clamp it against something for a month or two if it's a problem, that should sort it.

I was going to try and make the joins on the plasterboard perfect from the word go. But I quickly realised that I'm way too slow at this, so went with the approach of get it good enough and sand and fill after it dries, be twice as fast.

I hope that this stuff sands okay.

NOT sure how this will go, but I'm putting corner tape in this. Or I might not, as I think the metal won't play nice with the bolts.

That went well enough. I think I need to put more bed down, the tape can lift, but it's okay.

I like the corner tape. Makes a good finish.

Both doors up, the warp on the door I didn't steam is noticeable, but I think I can sort it with clamps and time. Lots of tuning to be done, to get the meeting gap even and the levels the same. Then finish the slabs.

Better. Tighter gaps, doors even at the base.
