ive made a bbq outta one of the big uns. if i were you zardoz i would cut in half and make 2 burners outta it. far too big for a garden orniment but ok for just a rubbish burner at work
but you lived. Probably not best repeated
I would offer a litttle caution to be exercised regarding especially CALOR bottles and what you may be going to do with them for two reasons, firstly within that agreement thing is a clause that states the bottle/s remain the property of calor gas at all times, so although it feels like you have bought it due to this clause you in fact have not, and secondly calor are very good at prosecuting people who cut up their cylinders.
Although i am one of their retailers I have no problem or issue with what anyone does with calors or anyone elses bottles but just be aware you could be prosecuted.
paul..
It strikes me calor should be forced to take these bottles back and pay for there return, any other industry and these would be classed as dangerous waste but then calor maybe have somebody in goverment, these bottles litter the country, you only need look at a travellers site when they have all left there are bottles all over the place, same old story corporate vandalism.
I was given this 47kg beast today, approx four and a half feet tall. Its from Altagas or someone. How do i go about getting this valive off ?
did one tonight..cut the carrier off the top with a hacksaw..big set of stilsons and 3 clouts with a copper mallet...filled with water..
made in 1985, so they won't want that one back
The legal situation currently is simple, once it is dumped it is classed as abandoned, ...
If its abandoned anyone can take it and once you take it, it is assumed in law under a maxim of law that you hold deed of title which is ownership.
....
This is exactly what a barrister interviewed on "You and Yours" said. He refused to answer the question "How does one know it's abandoned?" Recently a guy from Yorkshire water left a screwdriver on a wall while he nipped back to his van for something. When he got back the screwdriver had gone, so just because something is lying around doesn't mean it's abandoned.
