Nearly finished pattern for 18”x12” square.
Some no name chipped my granite reference square so I decided to make some cast iron workshop squares for setting up etcView attachment 229069

I'd consider making the holes square with big flanges like the outside to allow you to clamp against it easily. Very nice otherwise, I'd love to get some things cast one day.

Not a good idea with a precision Square.

Squares are unstable, secondly as mtt said it’s a reference square , not for clamping.
That said it’s gone through my mind to make one suitable for clamping, but that’s called a welding square!

I'd read "Workshop squares" as less precise than precision squares, though I had also forgot you made the welding squares.

That said it’s gone through my mind to make one suitable for clamping, but that’s called a welding square!

I think an ali welding square would be nice, but i have loads of box section 345 squares.

And a trubo speed square with an over hang at the rear would handy

I bought a parts cleaner to stop her putting motorbike parts in the dishwasher!!

to be fair I get away with most things as ornaments as long as it doesn’t look too industrial
