More progress got 18” camelback back from foundry. He didn’t pull my trousers down too badly on that one and the 18”x12” square. That hurt

48” bow top done. There’s no dovetail bevel . I’m pleased with this one as I’ve got weight down and rigidly up. A bonus of light weight is the casting is affordable

I know this video has been posted on the YouTube thread but it’s a really good guide on scraping in the traditional long lasting English style not the aggressive ‘king taught’ style. I donated Matt look a se that had moved slightly in the fixture

That's a very watchable video. He's come a long way into developing his own style and methods.

One way of avoiding the issue of weight distribution when scraping a dovetal straight edge is to leave the tool in the clamp and put the plate/master on top. Gotta be careful not to wear a trough down the middle if you use a plate.

Is that straight edge cast with a touch of nickel for wear resistance Clive?

Sounded pretty hard-wearing from the scraping noise.

Noted about the clamping, but I think he's safe with his setup, looks very neutral.

I watched part 2 of his video, he did a LOT of work between his first print with the 1 thou feelers and the second one shown, hinging at 1/3rds.
