My one has had "the ar$e" all day and has only just come indoors, all because I had a very rare lay in and didn't get up until 8am so he didn't get his bikkies first thing this morning! I got worried so went looking for him and found him under the garden seats plastic cover.

8am? I dream of that long a lie in. I was summoned at 5 this morning.....

Dogs have owners cats have staff.

They love rabbits!!!! Ours often bring them home live…. It’s like the killing fields at the bottom of our stairs at times!!!!

don’t mind rabbits ( except the amount of blood ), mice etc but hate it when they bring home birds jackdaws excepted), lizards, slow worms …..

My cat is called 'Grizzle' for good reason, not just to embarrass me when we take him to the local vets and the receptionist shouts 'Grizzle Williams' on top of her voice. He's half rag doll cat and half some passing tom cat. I've had quite a few cats over the years but none so difficult as Grizzle. He's not a lap cat, though not entirely unfriendly. He likes a fuss and a brush on his terms for the requisite number of seconds. After the requisite number of seconds have passed it generally passes into Fight Club.
He's a fussy eater. Oh how we laughed when we saw the adverts for soup for cats How pathetic are some cat owners we scoffed. Soup for cats is one of the few things we can get Grizzle to eat. Even then he prefers to lick the gravy and leave the solid food.
Sadly for us and for Grizzle, the Cat Rescue warned us that he is strictly a house cat as they can't look after themselves. He is not the brightest of cats and we know that if he got out, he would just carry on walking and not return, because he wouldn't know how. He is also utterly fearless. My previous cat Hendrix (RIP) was scared of his own shadow. If the vacuum cleaner came out, Hendrix went out of his cat flap pretty sharpish. Grizzle conversely has stood up to it and then attacked the vacuum cleaner.
We were never happy with the fact he couldn't go outside on his own, so I devised The Grizzleator. Basically a long washing line the full length of the garden with his retractable lead looped on it. He wears a harness and he can walk up and down and have an explore of the garden.
Being totally fearless he decided to jump over the fence into next doors garden when we were distracted and attacked next doors dog , a Labrador Alsatian cross. Next door's dog is now terrified of him. As mentioned he is a difficult cat and quite challenging, he's very entertaining in all sorts of strange ways but we adore him.
By the way, anyone considering a cat, look no further than your local rescue and always consider a black cat first as they have a lot of trouble re-homing them. We've had three in a row now and wouldn't have any other colour.
