My brother sent me this pic of his cat today, shortly before it sunk its teeth into his arm drawing blood...never done that before...Cats!
Think his face gives an idea of his character.
Our 16 year old Tonkinese, back from the vet today following a broken tooth extraction and abscess:: I was more worried about her than myself as I am lying in a hospital bed getting pumped with chemo for the stem cell transplant

I got savaged by my puss last night when brushing him! One nip means stop I've had enough but I ignored it and carried on, 2 minutes later he sank his teeth into my hand
I did get a load of furr off him though.
Does he now look like this then?

Our mog has the right hump as my lad has gone back to Brighton for a few weeks to make the most of the house were renting. This even though he's finished uni. The cat absolutely loves him.
Usually waits in the garden and counts us all in. Only then does he settle.
Been very vocal, telling us we guess that one's missing. Chased SWMBO today and bit the back of her leg!

Thought I'd update the story of the cat that I was looking out for:
The vets whom I'd found to carry out the microchip check failed to repsond to my many calls (always stating they were awaiting the database respondance) - RUBBISH!
Unbeknown to me the vet knew exactly who the owners were as I later discovered the very same vet had treated the cat on several occasions. This vet had treated the cat recently for an abscess under the cats collar and adminstered steriod injections. (I began to think at this point that the owners considered the ongoing vet bills and took the easy way out)...
...Whilst still trying to trace the cats owners one of my neighbours called and said they knew who did own the cat. It transpires 'they' could not get the cat to return home because of a new dog/baby (story changes often), yet, to me, seemily did not care enough to call a re-homing service: rather see the cat suffering outside in the middle of winter!!
When approached they alluded to paying all ongoing vet bills; I think only because there was yet another neighbour who was raising objections to them as to why the cat was abandoned.
I still find it extremely bewidering knowing that 'they' could have knocked on my door within any of the preceding months and informed me of the cats known medical and dietry history!
I was still getting no response from the RSPCA as to if they could collect the cat, so I continued to make the cat welcome.
Many people would stop to pet the cat as he is so friendly, most walked away when they saw the skin condition, yet one lady adored him. The upside was this lady was willing to adopt the cat once she had completed her studies and left her hall of reidence - lovely. I'd also agreed to keep the cat as safe as I could until the end of May.
The RSPCA did eventually arrive at the bequest of my next-door neighbour ('pose it helps being a Dr!). I recounted what I thought I knew of the cat and its possible owner. It was interesting to hear the true story of the cat I was calling 'Regnig' and thought of as young female: Nope, His name is Sagen and he is approx 10 years old! He also originated from his original home some distance away.
On the evening that Sagen was taken away this lady once again called at my door with two bags, each filled with toys and food: Twas touching but also sad to recount how the Sagen had been taken just a few hours prior.
Sadly the lady called me and explained that leaving her present abode was being delayed for another year...
...Sagen has recently been added to the RSPCA's cat re-homing site.

**Another story that fits this thread is about 'Mr G'. A huge stray ginger tom - huge balls! He would visit my garden each morning to be fed with and a bowl of milk. After many years I plucked up the courage to 'pat' him, The growl was enough to remind me to never try that again! His gait was that of big alpha male, slow and unrushed, until a little female was close and on heat and he ran around like a kitten.
One day he stopped visiting - I just thought he'd had his natural time. But when recounting this to my nieghbour it turned out she was well aware of Mr G. It seems he would leave mine and travel 15 doors down to her garden for a snooze. Five years ago he turned up in her garden as per usual but could not breath. Emergency vets were called and Mr G underwent lengthy surgery, and the snip. 'Victor', as she knew him, returned to live in her home where he became a loving companion to her until he passed away two years ago. She had commissioned a lovely oil painting of him.
Made me feel a alot more content knowing about MrG/Victor last years and a welcomed respite in comparison to poor Sagen.
