When I was a lad, not long after dinosaurs roamed the earth, we were living in a house near a nature reserve, and we had frogs in our fishpond. One morning, there was an ungodly scream, like murder most foul. Einstein the cat had caught a frog. My mother, who was always a big softy for animals, rescued it and took it to the vet. After convincing them that yes in fact, she did want them to operate and yes, was happy to pay for it, emergency surgery was performed. We could always tell that frog as it hopped around the pond afterwards as it had a big blue stripe from the scar.Did anyone else here not realise frogs can literally scream?
My cat kindly educated me on that after it brought a frog into our bedroom.
Was awoken by this horrible screaming coming from under the radiator!
Another time he brought a frog in, the other cat who's not as good a hunter brought inside one of those fake lily pads you get in ponds. I think she was feeling a bit incompetent so had to compensate Don't even know who has a pond round ere either
Fussy devil's cats, we find the same with our two, they'll quite happily eat one brand of food then for no reason go off it and the food will sit uneaten. Try a different brand and they scoff it initially then again a few weeks or months later they won't touch itIs there any rhyme or reason to a cat's eating habits? For three days she (Buster) will eat Lidl's finest, then stop. Onto Felix As Good as it Looks. Maybe a couple of days. Then Sheba. Then Whiskas. If I'm cooking chicken, Buster sits by her bowl waiting for her portion.
Considering Buster is a stray who came into our garden to eat the bread put out for the birds, she has a very short memory.
But then Buster is a cat.
Our Tonkinese is the same, currently off all cat food and tinned tuna but will eat fresh prawns, she will climb your legs if you are shelling prawns or crab claws and goes wild for lobster! Is there any rhyme or reason to a cat's eating habits? Supermodel catIs it the perspective, or is that really a kangaroo?
None of our 6 will happily eat anything but Felix Doubly Delicious or As Good As It Looks. Since the onset of the ongoing Felix scare, we have been tearing our hair out trying to find something they will eat.
Expensive tastes that one, would it not like a little smoked salmon? Our Tonkinese is the same, currently off all cat food and tinned tuna but will eat fresh prawns, she will climb your legs if you are shelling prawns or crab claws and goes wild for lobster!
