The stray which has adopted us was having problems yesterday. She kept walking around the kitchen, into the litter box, squat, a few drips, back around the kitchen, squatted over my slippers, few more drips, then the litter tray again.
Two things surprised me at the vets, the first was the £206 bill, the second was that by the time we got home, the antibiotic and anti-inflammatory injections had done the trick.
She was back to her normal self, eating food and ignoring us.

thats the joys of owing pets my dog has cost 2 and a half grand in the last year vets fees he only cost 200 quid to buy

I got one like that in the 90's. Turned up in the kitchen one day looking very hungry and in poor condition. Gave her some food and she stayed for 13 years until the big C got her.I love they way a stray cat turns up and decides "I think I'll live here, I'll give it 3 days to work on their affections, then I'm moving in".

Well, that was a fun 10 days.
I got my booster and flu vaccinations on the 2nd, and was not a well bunny for a few days. In bed with a migraine on the third, when a selection of neighbours took turns banging on my front door, because another neighbour had moved out on the 30th, and left her two cats behind. It’s obviously been confirmed, I AM the local cat lady.
One of these cats is the crack den cat who visits here for her regular catnip fix.
After a week of a neighbour trying to get hold of the owners, and a couple of us leaving food out for both cats, the absconders came back for one of the cats, and left the catnip cat behind, as “she’s not as cuddly as her brother”
Anyhoo, on Thursday, I made a couple of phone calls back and forth with the SSPCA, then a call to the local cat rescue. A plan was hatched to capture the cat today, and the rescue folk would collect her after lunch.
Well, caught her ok, and she’s now going to get checked over by the vet, and will find a new home.
Oh, and she disappeared in that cold weather on Friday, then turned up on my doorstep at 11am today, after nearly 48 hours of me rattling a cat biscuit box, and shouting Lilo up and down the street.

Bit the bullet had cat treated with Solensia the cat version of Librella, was told don't expect instant result but cats limp seems to be less to day 24 hours if it gets another 50% better it is a good result it was getting to the stage where even with the meds it had stairs were a slow job.
It is expensive though £68 per month + vets fee
Have looked into side effects seems low may be hair loss around injection site and loose stools if either discus with vet, it is a Step change in treatment I have been told by a vet friend in US both vets in UK i talked to have their own dogs on it and say they cant believe the result,
