They have a small spring in each one. So once you remove the cam spindle just let the preasure off slowly. You might have to prize the cam spindle out because it will be full of crud. The spindle has two cams that operate the tool holder. These have to be lined up for the removal and re fitting. Hope that makes sense

Started the final assembly of my tool post and noticed a couple of faults. The tool holder studs have been drilled and tapped by a faffing div...as you can see in the picture below. Secondly the locking cam will not turn properly because of the studs and they have not machined enough off to allow the lock to turn all the way. Bearing in mind they are £75 each !!!!

Have come to the conclusion that you need two lathes. One lathe to machine up bits you need for the lathe your refurbishing

Yes Pete. But can't use the machine yet as I got the apron off and leed screw ect

No problem I just spotted a 10" 4-jaw L0 fitting going VERY cheap..

It's a catch 22 situation. I need bits machining before I can put it back together. Plus waiting for a few parts on order.

Yes. I am 5 minutes from Colchester spares. I have parts on order. But the nut was brought previous.

Interesting, there are a few parts I wouldn't mind pricing up which I am missing, four change wheels, the compound slide nut is cack, the compound dial has been brazed. It's an expensive hobby...
