Touchscreens cause accidents, and reduce the general standard of car control. That isn't 'hating all things modern', it's caring about road safety.
Prove it, it's a grand statement to make with no base evidence given.
You are probably not aware that whilst driving functionality is hugely reduced to core tasks you most often can't go into menus unless stopped.
Seemingly most accidents are reported being smartphone related.
You could argue that. My 30 year old cheap Peugeot's switches work perfectly, how many touch screens will be working perfectly, 30 years from now? Zero.
Alot I should imagine, assume life span of an LCD being 30,000hrs and average driven speed for me 24mph. That will last past the mechanicals.
