My other Peugeot, before it was recently stolen, did 280,000 miles and drove like new.Let me counter your counter claim sir
Modern cars regularly do 150k miles plus with relative ease, a run of the mill car from 30 years ago would struggle to manage that, 40 years ago they were scrap at half that (not including exotics that people paid a fortune for)
(Or the mk1 Talbot horizon your mate has had from new and it's mint, etc)
Are people more distracted? Probably
Has the law failed to keep up with tech? Definitely but it is now, 6 points and fine for using a phone, mine goes in the glovebox and stays there
Totally.Computer screen on car dashboard... sounds a bit like watching telly while you drive to me
Totally.
All the people here getting hot under the collar, defending dashboard computer screens, clearly have Red Arrows pilot levels of concentration and ultra-quick reaction times, but they are obviously the elite; the average driver, not possessing such incredible skills, *will* be dangerously distracted.
Just because something is "new" doesn't mean it's" better" just different.Perhaps one should ask the question " why was it improved/changed? Was it to improve performance or to satisfy the need in customers to be seen to have something new. Also to provide a reason to make it cheaper and charge more. Manufacturers don't usually develop new stuff out of the goodness of their hearts. I get the feeling that a few who rave over the latest gizmo do so to hide the fact that they have made a mistake and can't admit it. All to his own. Signed Luddite.Because I don't understand the rational of it, handful on here have become those that hate all things modern or current.
Dare I mention
Wind power, solar, Ev's, fusion, climate change, modern car diagnostic, modern diesels, modern cars at all and so on.
I find it really bizarre to intentionally set oneself up to not coexist with the future, by all means get stuck in the past but stop getting upset by it, it's a personal choice. Time only moves forward keep up or don't it's that simple.
Sounds like you're best off never driving such a vehicle, thenthe average driver, not possessing such incredible skills, *will* be dangerously distracted.
Depends on the person using the saw.Therein lies your perception of risk issue, too. A car can mow down a bus queue. A chop saw is likely only to take off one person's fingers

Not the planes fault, ban air it’s obviously dangerousAn airplane can fall out of the sky. Ban all aircraft
On longish 30 or 40 roads I click my cruise control on, so my eyes aren't up and down checking the speedo every so often, and I won't have a run in with the people who use the main road for a car park, or rather the people who have to try and get out of side streets and driveways past them. For those who say how dangerous they are because you have to take your eyes off the road, next time you go for a drive make a conscious effort to note every time you do take your eyes off the road, you’ll be very surprised.
Ban water too, people drown in itBan leaves
look at the rail disruption they cause !
