I use red diesel in mine. (Until April!)

Mainly because the nearest place to me that sells heating oil is so far away that a special trip would negate any saving for the amount of diesel I actually use. (About 20l a year)

Cr500dom I would order a new glow plug now ready for the imminent failure. A member was good enough to send me a used espatcher glow plug about a year ago and it’s been fine since, too impatient to wait for a delivery of a Chinese version. It’s been running on diesel and can’t fault it.

Good point.
Not sure if it's the shipping, or that the glowplugs are fragile, but it seems to be the most common fault "out of the box". (Based on the FB forum)

Oh and a box spanner / modified. To remove old glow plug cause if you use long nose pliers like I did it snaps the end off

I took the angry grinder to a silverline [1] long reach socket (10p from bootie) to make a glowplug socket.

[1] made from "high tensile liquorice"

Don't use it to tighten down the new plug!
The edges of the cut are sharp, and you'll be miffed if you damage the cables on your new plug.

I use domestic heating oil kindly sold by a friendly neighbour.

I use red diesel or Kero in mine on the motor home, never had an issue, I am told Kero burns cleaner so less chance of sooting up
