Looks like it was parked in the sea !That must have been driven through salt water at some time in its life. Probably a coastguard truck.

its 1999 main body is spotless one hole in a sill last year but its been used and abused all its life really so I think its holding up well , no rot on other side of chassis and from back of gearbox forwards its just surface rustWhat age is that one, I have a 2014 hilux HL2, I have thrown everything at it from waxyol, dinatrol to lanoguard, its an annual battle I am loosing, no welding yet but if I had the room I would be taking the tub off and getting in about everywhere, my tub is rusting from the inside out at the rear arches,
Yeah that's what I thought as well. Even the aluminium panels are corroded. That must have been driven through salt water at some time in its life. Probably a coastguard truck.

Oh blimey i thought it was going to be a modern hilux. After the navaras falling apart, i've come to expect it from all manufacturers.1999 Brad 200,000mls about time for some attention!
I dont think i'll be upgrading any time soon from what ive heard about newer ones now! mind you it would be nice to have a bit more than 85hpOh blimey i thought it was going to be a modern hilux. After the navaras falling apart, i've come to expect it from all manufacturers.
Luckily there is a booming business in replacement chassis for thoseYou lot are making landrovers sound(slightly) better.
I have only ever seen one and I bought it !I so want 1 of those bumper jacks
I read recently about a hilux at 7 or 8 years old been bought back by Toyota for research purposes as the chassis was holed, near a spring hanger, think it was in the Stalking Directory. All looked half decent except on bit…..
There was also something a while back where the factory in SA flooded….bet all the bits were still used.
The 2012 era ones were bullet proof. Had one, brilliant motor. My parents still have their 2008 landcruiser, which replaced a 1996 Landcruiser - that's still going with the guy we sold it to, petrol, over 250,000 miles.I dont think i'll be upgrading any time soon from what ive heard about newer ones now! mind you it would be nice to have a bit more than 85hp![]()
Unionize.....No such thing as class action lawsuit in UK so i doubt it
I have had a few of the older Hilux`s, always thrown the rotten rear body tubs away and fitted tipper bodies to them. Never seen a rotten chassis on one.
