For 1999 & 200k miles that looks really good to me! I'd take that.
My 2000 LDV Convoy chassis was/is a lace curtain compared to that Hilux rear-end.

I did repair it & ran it for another 9-mths. It's now due to be scrapped & I've bought this to convert in its place....Some folk like sado masochism !
Dad's had three Shoguns die due to rust in the time my Defender is still on its original chassis from 1994.You lot are making landrovers sound(slightly) better.

Don't think Dad had any head gasket issues but did crack two heads and snap a cambelt. Oh and main bearings on gearbox and also a snapped / cracked propshaft (he only ever took it in fields, not the kind of stupid things I do with the 110 and Range Rover).
I did an mot fail Shogun 3.2 yesterday for a friend ,,, it got a couple of patches on outriggers and one at the rear wheel arch same place as Disco , but the whole thing underneath looks like a giant cornflake ,,, it has to go , this time next year there wont be anything left , even the bolt heads have vanished on the rear suspension and the fuel filler lines were like brandy snaps ,, touch them and they actually vanished into dust , quite spectacular and quite scary at the same time. I get that if its a bonded bush as then its constantly being twisted more than it should but these appear to be split bushes so the metal part is free to revolve in fact on my friends land cruiser pickup they have grease nipplesOn Series Land Rovers I have seen it happen when the shackle bolts have been fully done up with the suspension hanging down (full droop) (on axle stands).
Rather than the shackle bolts being fully done up once the weight of the vehicle is back on its wheels and the suspension has been bounced a few times to settle it.
Means that there are allsorts of things being pre-loaded when the vehicle is at its normal ride height.
Also get the rubber part tearing.
I'd change the bush while you've got the leaf spring out, but its your car.
