2 coats zinc based primer 2 coats matt black same as wheels its the stuff we paint military vehicles with I help restore i'll have a look at the make but its good stuff

Was going to top coat rear axle lower mounts but thought I'd better check the threads as could only find 3 original bolts turns out one had been drilled out and a smaller bolt wound in. I dont remember when I removed them but I guess it was smaller , doesn't even look like they tapped it

Thread is screwed, turns out the others are 7/16 unf really odd on a Japanese truck

Looks relatively straightforward to cut out and replace the pin , they are both quite worn anyway.

I'll check the cost of replacing but shouldn't take too long to knock a couple up on the lathe.

Any ideas if m12 would be ok as I can find another 7/16 unf bolt at the moment

Is it fine for a reason?

acf50 and dust it every year ,,,, just do it after mot and forget it till next year , I put it on my own car with a paint gun now and it works grand , do the box sections with a dpf cleaner gun

ACF50 is good stuff no rust on my lathe after 2 winters in the workshop

I use it on all my cars, it's cheap and environmentally friendly and is one of the few things that you can put where there's rust and it will still work. Even heavy rust.

how do you apply it, an air line and some sort of gun? or brush.

It depends, I've used a brush sometimes for spot application, I also use a dinitrol spray gun

new pins now made , was a pain cutting old pins out as tight for angle grinder

I hoped after grinding i could knock out what remained of the old pins out but had to resort to milling it out

the bolts holding the towbar bracket were really corroded and welded in place they need to go as i need to add a support for a new body im getting tomorrow

i forgot to do it before sandblasting/painting so needed a solution that didnt involve ruining the existing paintwork

so I came up with this a pin that fits in the old nut tightly and drilled to 6.3mm for starrite pilot drills to keep it centred, then a plate was welded on at 90degress so it could be clamped square
