I prefer to call it a Robbery.

That's what it amounts to.

Will anyone make any substantial changes to prevent it.

Probably not.

Much like tax loop holes they can't seem to close.
It benifits those who have that power and the people that finance them

Unfortunately a business first job is to make money, product is second

Brand new, about 6 months ago

Too American, for £50k I want a much higher level of finish and I didn't like the 15" screen and no proper gauges

Granted it was rapid and good range but it's just not me I'm afraid

Screen is a pita when you live in a country where you watch the speed more than other road users
I took one out and it was fast but it looked like a kit car built by beardy Brian in a shed
When we got back in the leaf it felt so much better made

Leaf doesn’t have thermal management in the battery pack. Prize stupidity as rest of car is built solid.
I’ve already hatched a plan to sort my leafs battery and the old cells can be added to my solar array

I thought that the first time I drove mine but you very quickly get used to flicking the speed control on (it captures the local speed limit) and holds speed extremely well. But as above I get the overall T concept is very different and some will like it some won’t.

They’ve put a driver display on s and x which seems sensible.
I like buttons and switches for certain things like demisters etc and touch screen displays don’t like my rough hands .
Realistically touch screen is the cheapest solution, less wiring, assembly time and hardware development
My biggest problem is the shocking build
I was sitting in a hundred grand ish x type and there was runs in the glue holding the fabric to the door trim.
I get them, they just need to de nerd them a bit

As with all these issues you need to see who is putting up the money and who is directing policy …

With the move to rid the country of ICE vehicles I find it a bit odd that two petrol stations near me have recently been totally rebuilt, and apparently without any charging stations. The one in Gnosall was a major job, even the underground tanks were replaced.

And one on the A5 that's been shut for many years is now being renovated and reopened.

We'll still be needing diesel & petrol for at least 25 years so perhaps it's a bit of forward thinking by someone with an eye on the future?

Supermarkets are slowly adding electric charging points to their car parking areas . I guess it won't be long before we see " Come & shop here , charge your EV for free whilst you shop and visit our restaurant " , "Once you have registered your credit / debit card with us , just click on our QR code block here so we know it's you " at most of the bigger supermarkets .
The price of the charge will either be absorbed into the price of shopping for £ 80 or so or it being debited the instant you disconnect the charging cable & conforming it by QR code again .
We did similar in a massive Ikea place about 12 yrs ago in Holland IIRC . the food was fantastic .... putting most of the UK's high end slop joints to shame

I find it odd that they are focused on ICE and don't have several bays of charging stations. I can't remember the last time I saw a petrol station being upgraded around my way, usually they have simply shut up shop. I know of half a dozen that have gone that way in the last decade.

And also odd that both the rebuilt ones you have to go inside to pay, no pay-at-pump facility. Bearing in mind the covid isolation rules we lived under when the renovations were started.

I dread to think of the penalties and taxes the govt will put on fuel as they try to force people towards EV. If we think fuel is expensive now.......

I think he thrives on it if I'm honest

I have reached a stage where I no longer even look at the fuel price, it either stops when the tank is full or I hit the £100 pay at pump limit

When the EV lands I will do 80% of my charging at home

It’s a no brainer if you are getting a company car right now. It’s bettered only by the salary sacrifice EV scheme but unfortunately not many companies have taken that on (very much like the cycle to work scheme).

Which is why I drive a Jaguar Ipace, salary sacrifice means it was a no brainer

I see it as offsetting the carbon footprint of my 97 Jeep GC
