I can't follow through every post on this thread as it churns so slow, but I have a Femi ABS 105, and a Milwaukee M18 CBS 125,
They are dry cut saws, you don't use oil because there is a slight risk of fire?
you don't use water based coolant because there might be a risk of water getting in to the electrics?
using oils/coolants could degrade the the "tyres" on the pulleys?
You should set the the advised cutting speed to the materiel being cut-probably keeps the blade cooler and thus the "tyre"??
The Femi is ultra portable.
A bandsaw has a flexible blade-don't expect spot on cuts -any decent welder/fabricator will deal with a few degrees out
My Femi will slice 0.5 mm .
ABS is a personal choice, but I like it and glad I got it-but its not an essential.
Anyway, no sparks, no dust and thin kerf, horses for courses, but bandies suit me- and, I'm rubbish with them, see Jimmy Diresta use em to see wot they can do.

A combination protractor will be a worthy investment if you wish to start measuring other angles.
The possibilities are at your fingertips now. Check out a thread I started somewhere on using your saw to notch tubes. It's a very useful tool and surprising what you can use it for.

He's very good and knows some nice tricks but he makes that tube notch look a lot harder than it needs to be and it still needs dressing with a grinder when he's finished cutting to get it to fit.
The difficulty is getting your angles set but once they are known you should get the close fitted cope straight off the saw.

It's something I've been wanting for ages. I'm sure I'll be delighted with it...
Is that possible, in general, with two round tubes? I would have thought that the saw always cuts a flat plane (I'm assuming you're only doing one cut), and the fit between the two tubes is never going to be a flat plane - you're always going to have to embellish it after the saw cut.
What am I missing?

Works on quite thick too. You just end up with a nice prep
The fit up always sits nice and tight if your cutting angles are right.
