lizard lol i like to be in nothing!
I use a Clarke logbuster which is great - has lasted me well.I currently have a load of logs from a tree i cut down and i've just got another tree from my old fella (that needs chopping up) and i know they wont last forever but we'll realistically only use it for 25% of the year because they look pretty and we can turn the heating off in most of the house.
Coincidentally i just had my new chainsaw delivered today (Hyundai HYC6200X) I know not a husq or Stihl (before we go off topic) but seems ok for light home use.
I can use a drill auger to split the smaller wood, but i'll need some sort of log splitter to split the big 24" logs in half or quarter first.
im wrong i looked deeper via thisSo that ACR Malvern - you are saying this is meaningless?
"The Malvern II is also SIA EcoDesign Ready approved meaning that it meets with the EcoDesign criteria which will become mandatory in 2022 already. This makes the Malvern II one of the most environmentally friendly stoves available with low CO & particle emissions and high efficiency."
this one has 3 inputs you will see by the link posteddg ivar 5
Becareful with the chainsaw, dangerous things, keep the chain sharp.Coincidentally i just had my new chainsaw delivered today (Hyundai HYC6200X) I know not a husq or Stihl (before we go off topic) but seems ok for light home use.

Only once had an injury preparing wood.Becareful with the chainsaw, dangerous things, keep the chain sharp.
If your not splitting wood in big volumes long term a good axe is as good as anything.
wood is carbon neutral, and, very frequently, a waste product (as in not just pallet wood but that the trees are often cut down for an entirely different reason than to log for fire wood)
gas and oil certainly are not carbon neutral, nor are a waste product
The way you or I burn it yes.
The fact that large areas of virgin forest are being cleared for biomass power stations makes my blood boil.
Millions of trees in the UK that shouldn't have been cut down are these days as they know they can make a killing out of selling the wood.
Very sore point for me at the moment as I am trying to save 9 ash trees on my land that the councils are forcing to be cut down. I am going to post another thread on it actually.
