The oil price trend seems to be downwards, and there are regional differences in price. Managed to top up at the bottom of the last price dip.

Local to the West end of the M 4 ( 400 mtrs from our home ) , priced for delivery next Wednesday 8 March 2023 ...... Minimum of 1,000 litres of heating oil @ 76.73 p a litre , is it back on the up now a cold spell is forecast

Well I'm on a knife edge now! Holding back for price drop, I ran the tank level into the unknown.
Stocked up with wood, ordered 500ltrs ,which didn't arrive yesterday as promised. Heating down to 15C and not using hotwater as much as possible. Geting a bit smelly.
Sh8t scared of the fuel line airlocking on empty. Happened before and the Rayburn is pig to bleed.

Just topped up with 500 liters at 69p a liter as the last 500 liters only lasted a few weeks in this cold, I've turned the stat down on the boiler itself and I will do the same on the hot water cylinder.
I don't want to over fill the tank as it's getting replaced in the summer.

I did similar. Replaced a cracked (!) 1200L with a secondhand bunded 3500L i picked up for £800 (RRP over £3000). Hoping it will pay for itself with no more mid winter fill ups.
