Might creep a couple of pence, but think were about at the summer low as we've had a mild winter, demand isnt high. Though oil prices are still crawling down, heating oil usually lags it by a month or so.Kerosene on boiler juice e down to 57.29ppl plus vat this morning for me. I think thats what I bought at last September. Still got some of that 3500 litres left. What's the thoughts on whether they will drop further? Gut feeling is they will as we get I to July. What do you reckon?!
This is it. Thing is I can probably fit 2500l in so a few pence per litre lower is still a worthy saving.Might creep a couple of pence, but think were about at the summer low as we've had a mild winter, demand isnt high. Life is a gamble, heating oil price is just a small part of the equation. This is it. Thing is I can probably fit 2500l in so a few pence per litre lower is still a worthy saving.
Didn't OPEC just announce some production cutbacks to raise prices ?Might creep a couple of pence, but think were about at the summer low as we've had a mild winter, demand isnt high. Though oil prices are still crawling down, heating oil usually lags it by a month or so.
They've done that about three times in the last 9 months but it hasn't translated to a significant hike.Didn't OPEC just announce some production cutbacks to raise prices ?
Yes a slight one, but OPEC doesnt have the same influence it used to have when the bulk came from the middle east in years gone buy. In addition to that most of the non OPEC oil producers are banging the stuff out, so there is over supply. Also some of the poorer countries cannot afford to cut back, as their economies are so reliant on oil. Only Saudi really have the cash reserves to cut right back and not end up in an economic mess at home.Didn't OPEC just announce some production cutbacks to raise prices ?
A bit of useless info, the numbers on a CR battery give the dimensions, so a CR2032 is 20mm dia x 3.2mm thick. There is a coin battery in it much like a CR 2023 but much thicker ,,it's a CR 2430 ( cost £2.49 inc p&p from Amazon ) eased up the securing clip , took out the dead 12 yr old battery , wiped the faces of the new battery of oil and slipped it in place , added the desiccant bag & redid the sensors four screws then refitted it tightly to the tank , 25 min later it's recalibrated itself and is showing a full tank again .
mine seems to need the batterys relaced every year.We got 997 litres of heating oil yesterday morning at 63p a litre inc VAT
For those that have them ...
Our Watchman Ultra Sonic wifi volume and alarm device ( appros 80mm in dia by about 55mm high ) failed 6 weeks ago .
We discovered a new set up is £156 to £197 plus VAT .
So I took it out the tank & over a tray removed the four Philips screws then gently pulled it apart .. out fell a small desiccant bag .

I use lower tech…..open tank and dip! Just made it part of our holiday cottage changeover routine. House tank has a sight glass tube.mine seems to need the batterys relaced every year.
Thanks for that , battery Best before 2027 on the packet .mine seems to need the batterys relaced every year.
I did wonder as the replacement battery was considerably bigger & fatter , thanks .A bit of useless info, the numbers on a CR battery give the dimensions, so a CR2032 is 20mm dia x 3.2mm thick.
Does you stick scream out in the kitchen if the tank lid is opened or if there is a large sudden drop in the tanks fuel level ?I use lower tech…..open tank and dip! Just made it part of our holiday cottage changeover routine. House tank has a sight glass tube.
They've been filling my tank every year, maybe it depends if you're near a watercourse? Thanks for that , battery Best before 2027 on the packet .
On an earlier unbunded tank the stick battery sender died , so I carefully cut the end off & found two AAA cells inside . Luckily I had a sleeve , end screw full bore blanking cap & some 15 mm copper pipe so was able to remake the tube so I could change the batteries. It lasted almost 10 yrs before the fuel company said we are no longer allowed to fill unbunded tanks hence the move over to a new bunded tank & new sender unit .
My house tank isin its own bund. Where I live we dont really need to worry about these things, there is a decent kill zone around the 3 vulnerable angles of approach to our house. The level thing we have for the other tank doesn't work inside, walls too thick apparently.Does you stick scream out in the kitchen if the tank lid is opened or if there is a large sudden drop in the tanks fuel level ?
