Our 1000l last a year, allways has. HW in the winter and CH. I need to add a stat or two to the system since the boiler keeps kicking in on auto to heat the hot water (on a timer), but in the summer the tank is heated by solar, so all the boiler does is heat itself. Need a tankstat and round tuit. Might save a few hundred lites a year?

Not normally too competitive but were a couple pence cheaper on both red diesel and heating oil than other local options.
Just done my usual ring-around the local suppliers for no-rush 1500L.
Prices have leapt up. Most quoting in the sixties. 56.88 - 65.1 plus VAT etc was the range.
I went with Boilerjuice at 56.88 (which works out at 56.99 with their fee). Saved me at least a tenner on the next cheapest supplier, and about £150 compared with the most expensive.
That’ll sort me out until next Summer, at least.

That's what bugs me about my place, kitchen sink is up the front of the house, gas boiler is at the extreme rear end of the garage, at the rear of the house. I reckon minimum 40' of copper pipe between boiler and sink, and it'll run a whole washing up bowl of water before it get hot.Exactly why we went for a washing machine with hot fill, boilers only about 3mtrs away from the machine so it gets the hot water pretty quickly
I've toyed with getting the boiler moved to the kitchen, which is far more sensible.
I even had to build a big cupboard around the boiler, to keep it away from ice cold air in the garage, which kept tripping it on, on really cold mornings.

Im looking down a battery route, how big are your batteries? All ready have the solar with excess to heat store and hotwater
Do these heat pumps heat your water too? I understand how they work, just never got into how the systems are plumbed.

Yes, we have an unvented cylinder, 250 litres of pressurised hot water
I'm "testing" some batteries for a supplier so I have 30kwh capacity, final install will probably drop to 20 for practical reasons

My leccy bill soared last month, no idea why but it was £48, which is a tenner up on normal. Has the price gone up?

Certainly suck the water out! Not sure they are any better than any other makes but 4 year warranty if you buy direct
