Yes, it helps to have the largest supply of natural gas. even with the cutbacks.

If we had allowed fracking as so many companies wanted we wouldn't be in this mess. People were complaining about mini earthquakes - they used to be very common in Wales with all the mining and quarrying.
The limit in the UK for fracking was over 0.5 magnitude - about the same as a bus or lorry!
In the USA the limit is magnitude 4 - a huge difference!

The analogies that are being made on generation I think are flawed. I could be totally wrong.
But as I see it ....all the 'Tomatoes' are exactly the same, but one grower produces them cheaper than the others. You take any 'tomatoes' out of the communial basket, but are charged by the grower that you have chosen.

Certas Driver rang me and said tanker was too big even though it was a 4 wheeler. So order cancelled. Boilerjuice asked me if I wanted to blacklist Certas as they didn't have suitable size tanker. To re-order would mean losing the agreed price. So went to HomeFD and ordered from them as previously. Didn't expect any issues. Delivery was scheduled for Monday and has still not arrived. No telephone support.
Then I noticed this...

My experience (& feedback from others) on Certas is not great. They took over an old Independent Oil Distributor (& my nearest, 1.5 miles from my house) a few years back.
I used them once (cos they sent out a £40 off voucher in the mail) but tend to use other suppliers.

Got our 1000ltrs today, its full to the brim now so will see us well into spring and possibly summer, chatting to the driver he said it was mega busy doing nearly double the deliveries!

HomeFD delivered a day late, 500ltrs by Certas in small Tanker at 96p exc. This is after Boilerjuice who were also using Certas were told by Certasthat they did not have a small tanker and cancelled order at 85p exc.

"We have been contacted by the supplier Certas Wales regarding your recent order.

They have attempted to complete your delivery today however; the driver has advised that a Baby tanker would be better suited to make your delivery.

Unfortunately, the supplier does not have a tanker of this size and therefore will not be able to complete your delivery."

85p/L is a good price at the moment. I've been watching several companies closely the past couple of weeks and snatched 1200 L at 88p/L the other day.

I found it curious how some companies seem to track the price of crude and others... we'll they just seem to make up a figure then add on a bit extra to the total and hope you don't notice.

Anyway, I'm going to stop looking at the price of oil now as I don't want to be annoyed when it crashes.

There are a lot of folk looking at ramping up storage capacity so they can fill when/if it does crash. Bit of an eye opener in the last eighteen months as to how fragile the markets are.

Prices hikes like the ones we have had in recent years will subside as demand decreases and world tensions ease so with everyone tightening their belts demand will drop off. End of the day they need to move the quantities and they don’t really want folk switching to alternatives.

I've heard of people buying up old tanks with the idea of giving them 5 - 10 years worth. I can't see the point if I'm honest - they're just postponing the inevitable.

Boilerjuice prices in my postcode have dropped about a penny a day for the last week. Dont know how long that will keep up.

Sorry, but I disagree - you can have tomatoes and organic tomatoes.....

Earlier post was an error in quantities. Original Boilerjuice order was a 1,000 not 500. Reduced it on the price hike.
Whether this affected price per litre? But still doesn't account for disappearing tanker?
Little bit distracted at moment sorting this out. My late parent's house had a visit from some kiddywinks. 600mile round trip to fix. Living in caravan at moment.

Having read through the last few pages I have noticed a few things

This thread, like all similar threads, has descended into the usual arguments

The vast majority of people posting have no or very wrong ideas about how energy is generated, distributed, bought and sold in the UK

Also like all the other threads on this matter, I'm unsubscribing because life is too short
