I have just purchased a Boxford Lathe

What sort of distance are you going? I'd beef it up a bit to either a 4mm or 6mm 3 Core armour - not expensive to do and you can bury that.

it is 20M appox 6mm or 10mm will be even better over that distance plus I have room to expand

It is, but it's a much better machine than the AUD which also has a .750" bore I think.

right the Lathe needs moving this week as the horse needs the box for a trip to the vet.

So I need to order some tooling so I can start using it.

nearly everyone goes for tipped tools which are great for hard materials but the majority can be done with either hss tip tools or solid hss ones . just buy a grinder and learn how to sharpen them .. I've noticed lately there's not a lot of decent second hand ones about on ebay and what stuff is available is overpriced worn out and don't look up to much
