I bought all of my stuff at real good prices over 45 years THANK GOD .the prices stuff are fetching now on ebay are stupid .vices seem ridiculous. the dearest ive ever bought was a virtualy new 6inch record for 65 quid previous to that 40was the going rate at autojumble

I never bought them like that, I bought the wedge type tool holder bit, and a couple of tool holders,

Then I sent for a couple at a time from China, they were only about £16 each delivered, so I spread the cost over a year

thats the sensible way, I need to check china out what site did u find them on from china

I bought mine from Arc,
But
What I bought from China, is no different from what I bought from Arc in terms of quality, they are all China sourced.

The handle and top looks slightly different thats all, but yes they are all made in China

Its likely the same, the Arc pictures are the same pictures of what I bought a few years ago

I just bought the actual holders from China, they look the same in every way.

That will suit my swing but the holders don’t suit my tooling. My tools are all 20mm square & 18mm round ish.

They do, BUT the height of the tool slot (that the piece of HSS or whatever sits on) can be too high, so you can't get the tool on centre height...
The 200-series are 5/8 slot height, with the top at 1&1/8, 300 are 1" slot, top at 1&11/16 or thereabouts - you could end up milling a bit off the bottom of the tool or the toolholder (not the post, that won't help!), so first measure centre height above the top of the cross-slide and compare to the top of the toolholder slot - I have the 200 on my Holbrook C13, and it *just* goes low enough to get 5/8" tools on centre, with maybe 1/8" under the QCTP toolholder. Phew.
