Playing helps learning, but you really will learn more attempting to actually make something like a wheel spindle or such, as you will need to work out what sequence to do things in, so you dont end up with something really nice gripped in the chuck.

Both.
Drill out undersize a little then bore to finished dims.

yes mate 1.5 fine pitch M16

14.0 for M16 Coarse

14.50 for M16 fine
