I have just purchased a Boxford Lathe

There is a good meter or 8mm id hose so I guess it takes a while to fill that up.

I must have about 6m of 3/4" ID on the CNC lathe and it takes less than 1 second to get to the turret. Originally it had a solenoid valve on it but that caused more heartache than it was worth for some reason so I did away with it. The Chiron I have solenoid valves but don't get a problem with them.

A clear plastic cut and welded. (Solvent weld?)
Whatever it is make it easily removable and refittable less likely to rip it off in frustration then.

My 1969 vintage Boxford came with a simple sheet metal splash guard that clips onto the cabinet tray. You can see it just to the right of the photo when I acquired the lathe.

A flip up guard like on most manual lathes is the way I would go. They hinge out the way when not needed and just flip down when you do need it. They don't have to extend much past the jaws on the Z axis because the majority of the coolant that gets flug is from the chuck.

I like that to great idea.

I was thinking more for the chuck though but it has to be see through

I have some 10mm acrlic sheet I could use. just need to think about hinge and mounting

There should be some holes already in the headstock to take a chuck guard.
