the pump arived today but there is a hole in the lid! I think it will leak.

Shouldn't make any difference.

Take the top off and have a look.
I was gonna grab the other type
Keep the liquid well away from the motor

The pump is only the bit at the very bottom, coolant goes no where near the motor. Coolant flow in red squiggly lines

shall I paint the sump in the center of the boxford cabinet or just stop faffing and fill it with oil the oil will prevent the rust

Looking at the state of the motor cover they were deptive with the 'high quality' description too!
