Do you have dxf software?

Fusion is good if you are in for the long haul. There is a learning curve.

emachineshop is plenty good enough for 2D stuff.

QCAD is simple to use but not as good as emachine. I don’t think.

edit. Inkscape allows dxf export but not so good with engineering type stuff

Failing that I've a mate with an 8k solid works contract.

This morning I found a local company to produce the dxf file, I'll sit with them and work out exactly where all the holes go. They're not cheap, oh no.

800 euros of steel sat in the van. That's 200 per square meter of 8mm.

Ouch....

Kinda. We get shafted for being up here. Just cos they can.

3mm mild is now £150 a sheet plus vat I think. I know it’s gone up since my last order which was just over £100.

I am in talks with my buddy to do a raiding mission south for material. Down and back is still cheaper especially for 316. It’s half here in Glasgow

I recall seeing what you'd paid for a sheet of 3mm a few weeks ago and baulked at the price compared to Brundle's list price!

Well, look, to say, I don't think I can lift one meter by one meter, I think I maybe would go for 6mm next time, once they're cut they'll be lighter.

It's going on a boat in kit form, to be asssmbled.

Went and visited the laser cutting company, for a quick chat this afternoon. Nice to meet people face to face, even in masks.
