Lad set up the enclosure again. First attempt at printing ASA. So far so good! 3DLAC on the glass bed and part way through a benchy. Extracting via the enclosure fan out the window:
No major smell/fume issue and no warping so far...

Home made. Many popular enclosures are based on the IKEA LACK tables but during lockdown we couldn't get one...so made it from scrap (scrounged ply site hoarding) based on the rough dimensions of the LACK. Basically you 3D print all the hinges and joining pieces. Search LACK on Thingiverse, Yeggi etc. The uprights might need to be longer depending on the particular printer height

One point to note is the inside of the enclosure gets bloody hot. Just printing this ASA and the gut feel is it's hot enough in there to potentially damage the PSU or mobo. Looking now at how to mount these externally.

Nice, i have some scrap wood to play with. Did you use acrylic or polycarb for the sides?

Not sure tbh. It's 2mm thick. I think it was secondary glazing sheets. Got it from an elderly neighbour. It was covered in dirt and dust but clean under the protective, peel off sheets. Cut it by scoring with a Stanley then wet 'n drying the edges. Just took it easy drilling holes.

Never thought about recirculate the air thru HEPA and carbon filter to keep heat inside enclosure?

Not until you've just said no!
Tbh we won't be doing anymore ASA (or trying ABS again) until we move the electronics outboard of the enclosure I don't think.

Just to note we made our enclosure the same size on plan as the IKEA LACK table and have since bought a genuine one, in black. I think we went to the store as IKEA's delivery charges, certainly in lockdown, can be punishing!
The plan is to sit our enclosure atop the real one and maybe even get another.
Worth looking on Freecycle, Freegle etc as the LACK tables are sometimes given away.

I had looked at various options, and although there are a few cheaper options, I struggled to find much detail about them, and lots of the more popular brands seem to be continually releasing new models. At least MicroSwiss seems to be pretty consistent with their options, but that comes at a cost :/
Not personally, but there are numerous videos on youtube with various methods.

You basically get a bit of nom. 2mm ID PTFE tube and join the melted ends in that.
