kim, who is your goto supplier for parts? i ask as i have just purchased a series 2/3 hybrid and need to start shopping. i normally use a combination of paddocks, craddocks and eblag. just wondered if you had a different preferred supplier...

I use Britcar, they're not to bad.

East Anglian Galvanising did it. I had it shot blasted and it was about £120 for all of it to be done

Does anyone have any good places for getting tap sets? I don't mean those god awful Chinese ones. Like three stage tap kits. I could do with m6,8 and 10. Should cover all the galavanising bits. I did look at dormer which is what we used to use at work but they're ever so expensive. I will buy them if there's no other alternative that others wouldn't recommend.

If you are only cleaning the holes out have a look at a Draper kit.
They will do what you need.
Avoid Screwfix, tool station.

Machine Mart are OK, but I would not trust them to cut a thread.

If you know the thread size get a bolt the same size, taper the end, cut 4 wide slots. Double hacksaw bald width and run that through.

A food galvanizing place will have but a bung in the holes, so you may only be dealing with a small amount.

I've used Tracy Tools for years - they sell reasonable quality and best quality. HSS is best but carbon steel is probably perfectly ok for clearing your zinc:

Don't know what the prices are like, but we used Wurth taps for years in the maint dept and they seemed decent quality. Still use them at home for the odd job.

if you are only cleaning galv out why not try the old trick of a bolt with an X cut down the length.

Like Andrew says; Tracy Tools only stock decent gear and they often have deals on sets.
